A Clever Satire That Witnesses A Dip In The Second Half
Rajkummar Rao is a miser whose petty obsession feels hilariously relatable in the beginning, but slowly escalates into unbelievable chaos. The setup offers dark comedy with desi awkwardness as Rajkummar, with his facial expressions, makes you laugh hard at his misery.
You can see Abhishek Banerjee as a drug addict, as he convincingly plays so with his amazing acting skills. He is the one because of whom the toaster chaos begins to take weird and unimaginable twists. Archana Puran Singh is seen in an unexpected avatar, and that excites you more. With small yet important parts played by Seema Pahwal as Abhishek’s mother, Farah Khan, and Upendra Limayee, the first half of the movie keeps you hooked to the story.

But right as we dive into the second half, expecting a nice run of twists and thrills, the comic scene begins to dip. There are many jokes that do not land well and fall flat on the face. The humor starts feeling forced, and the twists feel a bit too much. It feels a bit stretched with the climax being totally ruined as the script loses its steam.
Amidst all this, the only thing that must be appreciated is the relatability as a character built by Sanaya and the massive twist for Archana’s character. Archana, who has been known as the loudly laughing woman from comedy shows or Miss Briganza from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, plays an opposite character quite well.

Final Thoughts
If you are an ardent fan of Rajkummar Rao, you might actually like the movie as he has acted really well. But as a whole, if we include scripting, the movie surely disappoints you towards the end. While the climax must have been something mind-blowing, it falls flat! The movie can be watched for Archana, Rajkummar, Upendra, Abhishek and Sanaya’s acting but not for the script or expectations from the story!
