amichi review

Even though Bandra is one of the most lively, bustling places in Mumbai, its Pali Hill neighborhood has a distinctive calmness in its air. Amichi Napoli Pizzeria, a new addition to Bandra’s ever-evolving culinary scene, not only preserves this calmness within its cozy four walls but also accentuates it. This new 16-seater establishment, nestled right next to Candies, serves authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas and other Italian fare that are as pleasing to the palate as the decor is to the eyes. So, unstumbled paid Amichi a visit to give you an honest, unfiltered unstumbled review of this place.

About The Calm And Cozy Ambiance At Amichi

amichi review

Generally, white walls with minimalist decor in cafes and restaurants aren’t particularly exciting or noteworthy. That is, if you haven’t seen how Amichi does it. The soft, off-white walls are adorned with what looked like soft, hand-painted watercolor paintings of branches of lemon trees and ristras of garlic and chillies. Along with the gentle Italian music, it feels like being in the Italy you only get to see in movies.

Everything We Tried At Amichi Napoli Pizzeria

Now, onto the main event. The menu was enticing enough, and this is everything we tried:

Upside Down Latte

Spanish Latte

Bruschetta Leek

Parmigiana Di Melanzane

Wild Mushroom Napoli Pizza With Rossa Sauce

Pollo Picante Pizza

Tiramisu Profiterole

Ginger Tea

Upside Down Latte

amichi review

It is a newer addition to the menu with honey-butter-infused milk, layered beneath cold foam and espresso. Ardent coffee aficionados might be able to comprehend the nuances of the latte, but if you’re a casual drinker or not a particular fan of coffee, it might taste like a standard, albeit decent, latte.

Spanish Latte

A no-frills, to-the-point beverage with espresso and condensed milk, the Spanish Latte is a good option for those who want something familiar and reliable.

Bruschetta Leek

amichi review

For the Antipasti, we first tried Bruschetta Leek. It’s a creamy sauce made with leeks, served on toast, and topped with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It was quite good — the toast was crunchy, the leeks were creamy, and the balsamic vinegar added the much-needed acid.

Parmigiana Di Melanzane

amichi review

The Parmigiana Di Melanzane is supposed to be crispy fried eggplants, layered tomato sauce, fior di latte (fresh, unaged cow’s milk) mozzarella, and grated parmesan. While the eggplants could be crunchier, the flavor was very good. The tomato sauce was rich, and the cheese added a nice depth and creaminess to the flavor.

Wild Mushroom Napoli Pizza With Rossa Sauce

amichi review

The Wild Mushroom Napoli had, well, wild mushrooms, fior di latte mozzarella, parmesan, ricotta cream, garlic oil, and truffle oil. You get to choose the base sauce, bianca (white) and rossa (red). We chose the rossa and had them skip the truffle oil. The pizza was rich and creamy, and quite filling. The pizza is also served with chilli oil and garlic oil along with your standard chilli flakes and oregano. Since the pizzas were mainly what we came for, we were not disappointed.

Pollo Piccante Pizza

amichi review

A delicious chicken pizza with tomato sauce, fresh jalapeños, onions, and basil. The crust for both pizzas was quite soft, which made the mouthfeel quite pleasant. If you are someone who likes spicy food, this would be an excellent option for you.

Tiramisu Profiterole

amichi review

Stuffed with tiramisu cream, the profiterole was chewy and mildly sweet. Coffee-based dessert fans would enjoy this immensely.

Ginger Tea

amichi review

This warm, spiced concoction was the perfect beverage for ending the meal and cleaning our palates. After the rich meal, the ginger tea felt like a warm blanket on a cold night after a tiring day.

Final Thoughts And Verdict

amichi review

As an establishment, Amichi has an extremely chill and laidback ambiance. The food is up to the mark as well. Nothing we tried disappointed us in its flavor and ingredients. The service, too, was tolerably good. Amichi, for us, is certainly worth visiting, especially if you enjoy authentic Italian fare or calm vibes.

More About Amichi And Its Inception

As with many beautiful things in life, Amichi is the result of serendipity and effort. It all started when Angelo Cristiano Maria bumped into Mishal Varma in the Maldives. They discovered that they were basically the same person and quickly became close friends. Even though he’s from Italy, Angelo had a love for India and wanted to bring a piece of his home here. Thus, Amichi was born. That it was born from friendship might be one explanation as to why Amichi has such a comforting and calming ambiance.
