As soon as the first look of the Lalbaugcha Raja was unveiled, the videos and pictures from the unveiling ceremony started doing the rounds on social media. People are awestruck and are discussing the look of Bappa.
The Lalbaugcha Raja 2026 idol maintains its legendary, time-honored look with a majestic, spiritual temple aesthetic. This majestic 20-foot-tall idol sits on the royal throne, draped in a vibrant maroon dhoti that features golden embroidery along the borders. Bappa is adorned with exquisite jewellery and a masterfully carved golden crown.

Devotees have been excited ever since the first look of the grand entrance was unveiled. Just like every year, this year too the entrance was designed with utmost detail and grandeur. The entry gate theme is inspired by Ujjain Mahakaal, with a large statue of Lord Shiva towering over the gate. He has a kamandalu and damaru in his hands. What is more exciting is that the eyes of Lord Shiva actually blink! You can also see Shiva’s beloved Nandi bull and Trishul on the other side.
After passing the entry gate, you can see that the lane is adorned with small shivlingas and dumroos made out of artificial white flowers and pearls. They are accompanied by lovely chandeliers and green vines. With such pretty decorative pieces hanging in the entrance lane, the darshan experience will surely be more enjoyable and beautiful.

Lalbaugcha Raja pandal was first established in 1934. Unlike other pandals in Mumbai, which come up with a new idol every year, Lalbaugcha Raja has a traditional posture that remains the same every year. The only thing that changes is the theme, including the lane and entrance decor and the color of Bappa’s dhoti.
This year, Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated from September 14 and will be concluded on September 25, 2026.
