Business class is one of the most important cabins in an aircraft, responsible for driving more profit than even economy class. Now, British Airways has just unveiled new cabins for its refurbished Airbus A380 fleet. And this includes the world’s largest business class with 106 Club Suites across the entire upper deck. The first completed British Airways A380 is expected to roll into service soon, however, no official date has been announced yet. Let’s take a look at what can be touted as the largest single investment any airline has ever made in reconfiguring an aircraft.
British Airways A380 Multi-Million Retrofitting
Airbus A380 A Major Player In British Airways’ Fleet
The new reconfiguration will include over 35,000 individual parts installed on each aircraft, which includes new galleys and staircases.
The Airbus A380 continues to play a key role in British Airways’ fleet despite receiving dwindling reception from other airlines post the pandemic. The flag carrier has 12 such aircraft, only second most behind Emirates. Airbus stopped making the A380 model in 2021 as many carriers cut down on their superjumbo jets to save costs during the pandemic.

However, the enormous size of the Airbus A380 allows it to accommodate extra space, features, and plush first-class suites. Although the aircraft type is expected to retire from the skies by 2040, British Airways is spending millions retrofitting its aircraft to deliver the best-in-class features to its passengers.

It doesn’t end at that! Specially trained First Service Specialist cabin crew will deliver the airline’s brand-new dining experience, available in every First cabin across its long-haul fleet.
