The much awaited Bengaluru Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper train may soon be seen on tracks. The proposed Vande Bharat sleeper train is expected to offer an overnight connection between the two metropolitan cities, potentially reducing the travel time to just less than 16 hours. The Bengaluru Mumbai Vande Bharat sleeper will connect Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) in Bengaluru with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai. Let’s take a look at the details of the Bengaluru Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper that may soon launch in October 2026!
Bengaluru Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper: Cutting The Journey To 16 Hours
One of the biggest advantages of the proposed Bengaluru Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper is its travel time. The existing Udyan Express connecting the two cities takes close to 24 hours or a little more than that. The new Bengaluru Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper may reduce the travel time drastically, cutting it to just 16 hours. This could significantly reduce travel time and help passengers reach their destination faster. The reduced travel time can mean faster and more convenient family trips, work trips, and impromptu visits.
According to reports, the service is expected to roll out by October 2026. While official inauguration dates have not been announced yet, it is speculated that the train will begin operations after Dussehra 2026. Travelers should wait for an official confirmation from Indian Railways before making plans based on the proposed schedule.
