Vishakhapatnam is all set to host the World Food India Regional Summit of the southern states in the month of July. The regional summit will be hosted on July 9 and July 10 at the Andhra University Engineering College grounds. Organised by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India, it is a part of World Food India (WFI), a flagship international platform aimed at promoting India’s food processing sector. Here’s everything you must know about this upcoming summit. 

World Food India Regional Summit To Be Hosted In Vizag

Andhra Pradesh will be the host state for the World Food India Regional Summit of the southern states. Also, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) will be the nodal agency. Representatives from the fields of food technology, food processing, and exports and investments will attend this flagship event. 

The event will have participants from all southern states, like Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. Andaman and Nicobar, as well as Puducherry, will not be participating in the event.  The conference with state and Union ministers, along with ministers from the southern states, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. 

On Tuesday, a preliminary review meeting was held at the Collectorate for the same.

All About World Food Indian Regional Summit 

WFI, organized by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), aims to facilitate investments, enhance exports, encourage innovation, and strengthen global partnerships. To deepen the regional outreach, enhance the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) participation, promote sector-specific strengths, and enable focused B2B engagement, MoFPI has launched regional editions of World Food India. 

Each Regional Edition will feature:

  • Conference sessions that will focus on various investment opportunities, policies, and sectoral trends.
  • Culinary experiences and product showcases that reflect regional diversity.
  • Exhibitions showcasing industry players, state pavilions, startups, and MSMEs. 
  • Reverse Buyer-Seller Meets (RBSM)

  • Promote investment in the food processing sector
  • Enhance export competitiveness (Indian food products)
  • Strengthening of farm-to-market linkages
  • Support inclusive growth by integrating local enterprises and MSMEs into global value chains. 

The four Regional Editions of World Food India during the Financial Year 2026-27 will be organised across different regions of India. For now, WFI will be organised as a biennial event, but in the coming years, there will be Regional WFI events across all four zones (East, West, North, South).
