The Indian government has announced the dates for the revered Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in 2026. This spiritual journey is organized by the Ministry of External Affairs in partnership with the People’s Republic of China, and it is set to take place from June to August 2026. There will be a total of 10 batches, each made up of 50 pilgrims, traveling through Uttarakhand via Lipulekh Pass, while another 10 batches will follow the route through Sikkim, crossing Nathu La Pass. Registration is currently open, with the selection process designed to be fair and unbiased. The government will utilize a computer-generated random selection method that also takes gender balance into account to choose the pilgrims. The entire journey from online application to the selection of participants is conducted through a fully computerized system.

Applicants can register on the website and submit their forms online without the need to send any letters or faxes for additional information. Feedback options are available on the site, enabling users to ask questions or provide suggestions for improving the yatra.

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra: Final Registration Date And Pricing Is Now Out

The Yatris will have the option to suggest their preference for one of the two routes or to select both. The deadline for registration is set for May 19, 2026.

In terms of costs, the estimated expenses for the journey vary by route. For those traveling via Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand, the journey will take approximately 22 days and is estimated to cost Rs. 2.09 lakh per person. In contrast, the Nathu La route in Sikkim will last about 21 days, with an estimated cost of Rs. 3.31 lakh per person.

Additionally, the Yatra requires spending 4 days in New Delhi to complete various procedures. Depending on the chosen route, it takes approximately 23 to 25 days to complete the entire Yatra.

What To Know About The Eligibility For Kailash Mansarovar Yatra

To be eligible, Yatris must be Indian citizens with a valid Indian passport that has at least six months remaining as of September 1 of the current year. They should be between 18 and 70 years old on January 1 of the current year, have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 25 or less, and be physically fit and healthy for the Yatra. Foreign nationals and OCI cardholders are not eligible to apply.
