Which Products From Jharkhand Have Received A GI Tag

When it comes to Jharkhand's GI tags, the items range from the beautiful Bhoya Saree and Fabric to the exquisite Kuchai Silk Saree, each embodying the state’s vibrant cultural tapestry. Other products include Kesaria Kalakand, the intricate Dokra Craft, the stunning Tumka Chadar, and the artistic Baroni Paintings. Munda Jewellery and Jharkhand Bamboo Craft also make the list, alongside Tussar Silk and Sarees, Jadopatia Painting, and the elegant Pancho Saree and Fabric.

Experts believe that the GI tag will strengthen the preservation of these traditional arts and crafts, opening doors for artisans and weavers to access broader markets both nationally and internationally. This initiative follows the earlier recognition of Sohrai Painting, with several more local products pending registration for GI tags.

Besides Jharkhand, India has over 650 registered GI tags, covering various agricultural products, textiles, handicrafts, and culinary delights; this latest development places Jharkhand firmly on the map. Tamil Nadu might lead the count, but Jharkhand's unique offerings are sure to shine, showcasing the state’s cultural richness to the world.
