Hasanamba Temple

In a country that has no dearth of temples, each more unique and historic than the last, Hasanamba Temple in Karnataka still manages to stand out. It is the only temple that is closed most of the year and only opens for around nine to 12 days after Diwali. However, among its claims to fame is the ghee lamp. When the sanctum sanctorum is opened, the lamp that was lit on the last day of the year before is found still burning, and the flower offerings remain fresh. Owing to the short period of time it is open to the public, booking a slot for darshan can be quite confusing. This unstumbled guide is to help you navigate precisely that.

Hasanamba Temple Opening Dates And Timings

The opening dates of the temple are as per the Hindu lunar calendar. The official opening day was on Thursday, the 29th of October. It is important to note, however, that though the rituals of door opening are performed on the first day, it is still not open to the public on this day.

The temple opens for public darshan today, the 30th of October. It will remain open for public darshan till Tuesday, the 10th of November. This means that the public will have a total of 12 days for darshan. The official closing day will be on Wednesday, the 11th of November.
