Hiring Unauthorized Guides or Masseurs: Tourists should steer clear of individuals offering unlicensed services at the beach. Opt for verified professionals to ensure safety and quality.
Purchasing Tickets from Unofficial Vendors: Always buy river cruise or water sports tickets from authorized counters or recognized operators. Buying from unofficial sellers can lead to scams.
Using Unauthorized Water Sports Services: Ensure that any river cruise or water sports provider has the appropriate licenses. Engaging with unapproved operators can lead to safety risks.
Consuming Alcohol in Prohibited Areas: Drinking alcohol is only allowed in designated locations. Be aware of local regulations to avoid fines.
Leaving Glass Bottles on the Sand: Disposing of glass bottles on beaches is now considered an offense and is punishable by law. Keep the beaches safe for everyone.
Cooking in Non-Designated Areas: Cooking on the beach or in public spaces is restricted to specific zones. Make sure to adhere to local guidelines to maintain cleanliness and safety.

Goa’s New Rules Also Target Individuals Who Pollute Water Bodies
Disposing of Waste on Beaches: Throwing any kind of waste onto the beach is prohibited. Proper disposal is crucial for preserving the environment.
Polluting Nearby Water Bodies: Dumping sewage, chemicals, oil, or any pollutants near beaches is strictly forbidden and applies to both individuals and businesses.

If you violate these rules, fines range from Rs 5,000 to Rs 1 lakh, based on the offence. Additionally, offenders may face legal action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, for not following a public official’s orders.
