How DGTL Practices Sustainability

Sustainability has always been at the core of the festival’s values. The festival believes in minimizing their ecological footprint but also makes a positive impact on those around them.

During their multi-day festival, they focus on five sustainable pillars: resources, energy, mobility, sanitation, and food. And that’s because these themes have the biggest impact on festivals, are directly scalable to society, and are very specific and practical.

For example, at DGTL Amsterdam, on-site material systems are designed to minimize waste and maximize reuse and recovery. From eliminating single-use plastics to serving plant-based menus, DGTL became fully sustainable and circular in 2022.
