Eight Around Dinner Club: Mumbai’s First Bohri Supperclub
When we walked into Eight Around Dinner Club, we did not find any private tables with the reserved tag on them, and of course, no waiters. Instead, we were sweetly greeted by the hosts (Husain and Alefiya) as they welcomed us to their warm and beautifully lit apartment dining room.
They serve delicious Dawoodi Bohri cuisine, and in traditional Bohri culture, food is meant to be a communal experience. Families and friends sit down together to relish food by sharing the thal. The table is centered around a massive traditional Bohri plate or thaal, which is elevated on a tarakti, which is a small stand. The seating was limited to 12 people.

Bohri Supperclub Review
Sodanna
The Supperclub experience began with Sodanna. It is a traditional sweet dish hailing from the Dawoodi Bohra Muslim community. This dish consists of white rice mixed with ghee, granulated sugar, and some rose petals. It was a traditional sweet start to break the ice between 12 strangers.
Sheer Kurma Tres Leches
While we are used to eating our food the conventional way, where savory or spicy things are eaten first, and then it is followed by sweets, here sweets are served after every savory dish to balance it out! The first main food dish was the Sheer Kurma Tres Leches. It was a fusion of traditional Eid vermicelli and the popular Latin American milk cake. It was very delicious and well-balanced.
Stuffed Chicken
The next dish, Stuffed Chicken, looked simply delicious. It was crispy stuffed chicken served with a nice, not too thick white sauce and cheese balls on the side. It was crispy yet cheesy and so delicious that it got polished off in no time.
Strawberry Sorbet
Strawberry Sorbet is a refreshing, dairy-free frozen dessert that is made using sugar, water, and strawberry fruit puree. It has perfectly balanced sour and tangy flavors. And maybe we also got a tiny brain freeze after relishing it.
Mutton Kheema & Bheja With Roti
Mutton Kheema and Bheja with Roti is a legendary, heavily spiced, and rich combination served in Mughalai cuisine. The perfectly cooked soft bheja simply melts in your mouth, paired with the textured and well-spiced kheema. Scooping these up with hot piping rotis was just heavenly.
Chicken Seekh Kebab Biryani
Chicken Seekh Kebab Biryani is a premium fusion dish where succulent kebabs are combined with slow-cooked rice. Thinking about the experience, even our mouths start to water. It was simply amazing!!
The best part is that they have also taken care of other things as well. There were games, fun concoctions, and delicious food as well.

Final Verdict
This place did not feel like a supper club; it actually felt like we had visited our Bohri friend’s house. The strangers? Well, now they have become such good friends.
A small group of 12 guests, sharing stories, playing games, and enjoying delicious food, this supper club is surely a place that turns dinners into an intimate social event. So if you are in Mumbai, you surely need to come here.
