ToggleDelhi Government Launches Passport-Style Booklet For Students
The Delhi government is set to introduce a passport-style booklet for students of classes 4 to 6, which features 23 monuments across the city. This will help students learn about the historic heritage sites in an interactive way, where they will be collecting stamps on the passport during visits.
Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation (DTTDC), in collaboration with the education department, has developed this programme. It is expected to roll out on August 15, 2026. This initiative will last for 6 months from the date of its launch.
The idea behind making a passport-style booklet is to make heritage exploration exciting for the kids. Students will be more encouraged to actually visit these monuments instead of just reading about them through textbooks.
The booklet is completely modelled on an actual passport. Hence, the first page of this booklet will have the basic details of the students along with their photographs. The next pages will be about the 23 heritage sites or monuments in Delhi. This includes a designated space for the stamps that students can collect on their visit. It will also have a brief description about the monument or heritage site.

Children Will Be Eligible For Awards And Recognition
The capital city of India, Delhi, has witnessed many rulers and empires and has undergone a lot of transformation. Through this passport, students who represent the upcoming generation of the country will get to know about these places and the history in person. The students can visit and explore the tombs, forts, stepwells, museums and ancient structures. They can visit these places on weekends with family, as they are located in their city itself.
An official told PTI that the students who will complete visiting all 23 monuments and collect the stamps on the passport will be eligible for awards and recognition by the tourism department.
With the support of School Management Committees and the Education Department, these passports are proposed to be distributed through schools. Participants will be required to submit the completed passport to the Central Reservation System (CRS) office after completing the heritage trail. The tourism department will pick the winners through a lucky draw.
