Ahead of the launch of the Noida International Airport (NIA) in Jewar, also called the Jewar Airport, the Noida Authority is soon going to build a massive 10-lane bypass. This bypass will link Delhi to Jewar and will aid in relieving traffic congestion on the Yamuna Expressway. The airport is slated for launch on June 15, 2026, and IndiGo has been confirmed as the launch carrier of the airport. The Delhi-Jewar corridor will ensure that travelers don’t get stuck in traffic jams before reaching the new airport.

One of the major reasons for this preference is the high fares. Launch day fares from NIA are trending at INR 5,072, as opposed to IGIA, where fares are approximately INR 3,600. Furthermore, there is also a User Development Fee of INR 653, and the landing charges at NIA are reported to be 119% higher than IGIA.
