While I have never been a part of the human pyramid, I certainly have witnessed it in person. The experience is exhilarating, especially if you love attending large-scale live performances. However, if there is one piece of advice I would give to you, it would be to ditch road travel entirely. Major roads get completely choked, and unless you’re willing to spend hours stuck in traffic, stick to train travel and walking. Furthermore, most Dahi Handis are broken during late afternoon, so make sure you reach the celebration before that. Most importantly, remember to maintain a safe distance. While the pyramid is dismantling, sometimes the crowding can be a little too intense and even lead to a stampede.
