The Land of the Rising Sun, Japan, is being hit by a tropical storm named Jangmi. The storm has resulted in strong winds in Okinawa and heavy rainfall. The storm is expected to approach Tokyo on June 3. The strong wind currents and heavy rainfall because of the storm have resulted in disruption in rail and air travel services. Jangmi, the tropical storm, has resulted in severe weather conditions in Japan. The rail services are expected to be affected because of the current conditions. From tonight into tomorrow, the famous Tokaido Shinkansen line may experience disruptions. Hence, the travelers must check the updated information once before departure.
Talking about air travel, many airlines have announced rescheduling or cancellation of multiple flights. This includes services operated by Hong Kong Airlines and Hong Kong Express between Hong Kong and Okinawa. Japan Airlines also cancelled some flights to and from Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Amami Oshima, and more that were scheduled on June 3.
All Nippon Airways (ANA) also mentioned that the flights to and from Tokyo’s Haneda and Narita airports might face disruptions on June 3.

Warnings About Potential Landslides, Floods, And More
As per Kyodo News, the Japan Meteorological Agency has warned of potential flooding in low-lying areas, landslides, and overflowing rivers in the Amami region today. These warnings are also applicable to western Japan from today into tomorrow.
There are possibilities of a level 4 alert being issued as well. A level 4 alert is an urgent warning that is issued to urge residents to evacuate from certain dangerous areas. The public has been warned by the authorities to take necessary precautions and remain vigilant.
Within 24 hours, the storm is expected to bring up to 300 mm of rainfall to various regions. These regions include Shikoku, the Tokai region, and southern Kyushu. It might also bring a 350mm rainfall to the Kinki region as well. The forecast also mentions that the Pacific Coast of Japan might also experience heavy rainfall.
According to the latest reports from Hong Kong media and NHK, the strong winds have already left more than 10 people injured and have also caused damage in many parts of Okinawa.
