The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) commuters are all set to get a major infrastructure breakthrough. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has officially invited bids for a new cable-stayed bridge spanning the Thane Creek. This particular bridge will stretch across 1.4 kilometers and will have a total of six lanes. The new link will directly connect Kopri in Thane East with Patni in Navi Mumbai, significantly bypassing peak-hour bottlenecks on the existing Airoli-Mulund and Kalwa creek bridges.
