Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw flagged off the Jaipur-Darbhanga Amrit Bharat Express. At the same time, they also inaugurated the Mega Coaching Terminal at Khatipura railway station. Both these launches are aimed at improving regional connectivity and enhancing passenger services. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that the launch of Jaipur-Darbhanga Amrit Express is all set to make travel safer, more comfortable, and convenient for the passengers. At the same time, it will contribute to regional tourism, trade, and development as well as employment generation.
This premium budget train will operate six days a week. It is set to cover a distance of 1,168 km in 26 hours and 25 minutes.
The inauguration event was virtually attended by Darbhanga MP Gopal Jee Thakur and Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary.
The Chief Minister mentioned that Indian Railways has been undergoing an unparalleled transformation. This includes bringing up modern, safe, and world-class facilities for the passengers. It is slowly becoming the backbone of the country’s development.

Expansion & Modernisation Of Rajasthan’s Railway Infrastructure
After the inauguration of the Mega Coaching Terminal at Kharipura railway station, the Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that it would strengthen railway infrastructure. It will improve operational efficiency, passenger services, and enable maintenance of 450 trains.
During this inauguration, the Union Minister announced a new railway station in Sikar district at Sundarpura. This proposed railway station will benefit lakhs of devotees who wish to visit Khatu Shyamji Temple.
The Chief Minister said that the expansion and modernization of Rajasthan’s railway infrastructure has worked wonders. It has helped boost tourism, trade, and employment, and education opportunities. At the same time, it has helped in strengthening the social, cultural, and economic ties of the state with other parts of the country.
He also highlighted the increase in investment in this sector. The budget allocation in 2009-2014 was at an average of INR 682, and in 2026-2027 it has increased to INR 10,228. Currently, the state is witnessing the implementation of railway projects worth over INR 76,800.
