The interest in these regions is escalating, particularly driven by the Gen Z demographic, which comprises over 40% of summer searches on Airbnb this year and is experiencing an impressive 60% increase year over year. This younger generation is known for their frequent travels, often centered around unique experiences such as music festivals, local events, and food adventures.
Indian Travelers Are Showing Interest In Japan And South Korea
Airbnb’s data reveals significant interest in cities like Osaka, Tokyo, and Busan, which saw remarkable surges in search volumes – over 85%, 90%, and 95%, respectively. Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok remain favorites, enjoying stable interest due to their excellent connectivity and familiarity among Indian travelers.
Moreover, travel this summer emphasizes shared experiences, with nearly 60% of searches indicating group or family travels. More than 30% come from couples, highlighting travelers’ desires to create memories together while exploring new locales.
