The state government of Odisha has announced free bus travel for students who are appearing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) Re-examination. This is to make sure that the candidates reach their centres on time and stress-free. Here’s everything you must know about this. 

Bhubaneswar: Free Bus Travel To NEET Re-Exam Students

On Thursday, the Odisha state government announced free bus travel to NEET Re-examination candidates in Bhubaneswar on June 21, 2026. All the students have to do is produce a valid NEET-UG Re-examination admit card to avail this free bus travel facility. The retest will be conducted in 134 examination centres across Odisha by the National Testing Agency (NTA)

The commerce and transport department issues the necessary directions to the State Transport Authority (STA) and the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) to apply the same. Chief Minister of Odisha Mohan Charan Majhi approved this decision.

The decision was taken to help reduce the risk of heatstroke among candidates during the peak summer. It will also support the students with an economically weaker background and offer them fair access to the examination centres. 

This initiative will be implemented in coordination with the Capital Region Urban Transport, the higher education department, and district administrations by OSRTC and STA. The commerce and transport department has asked STA and OSRTC to take immediate steps for the implementation of the same.

Other States And Cities Have Also Announced Free Bus Travel 

Several states and cities have also announced free bus travel for all the NEET-UG Re-examination candidates. 

Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, had shared the news of free bus travel for aspirants on social media. The students just have to show their identification card to avail this free bus travel service. The aim is to help students reach their centres stress-free, as well as help poor students reach without hassle or payments.

The Uttarakhand Government, too, has announced free bus travel for all the permanent resident candidates. This service will be available to them from two days before the exam to two days after the exam. 

Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, has also announced a similar plan. The students have to produce their admit cards to avail this service. This is to safeguard them from facing any inconvenience on such an important day. \
