World’s Highest Revolving Restaurant

When you think of Kashmir, you might picture the snowy landscapes of Gulmarg, the stunning beauty of Dal Lake, or the secluded charm of Gurez Valley. But there’s now another exciting reason to visit this beautiful region! It’s not about snow or winter activities; it’s actually something quite majestic. Kashmir is now home to the world’s highest revolving restaurant! That’s right - Gulmarg has reached new heights, quite literally, with this remarkable establishment perched on Apharwat Peak at almost 14,000 feet. This new dining experience is set to elevate the concept of high-altitude meals in India and enhance Gulmarg's reputation as a top destination for winter tourism.

On December 13, 2025, the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, officially inaugurated the world’s highest revolving restaurant. This unique dining venue operates year-round and aims to provide visitors with stunning 360-degree views of the majestic Himalayas, offering an unforgettable experience that feels like dining among the clouds.

The restaurant features a warm and inviting atmosphere, rotating slowly to ensure that every guest can take in the breathtaking alpine scenery of Gulmarg. Visitors are treated to traditional Kashmiri dishes, including fragrant Kahwa and hot local specialities, making for a delightful fusion of taste and visual splendor. Additionally, the restaurant serves a practical purpose, functioning as a revolving conference and meeting space, showcasing its multifaceted design.

In conjunction with the restaurant's opening, the Chief Minister also launched Asia’s longest ski drag lift in Kongdori, extending around 726 to 750 meters and completed in just five months for INR 3.65 crore. Together with the world’s highest gondola, Asia’s longest ropeway, and the largest igloo café, Gulmarg continues to solidify its status as a premier destination for winter sports lovers and luxury travelers alike.
