Reasons Behind Air Ticket Price Hike

The reason behind this is the higher ATF prices amid geopolitical tensions in the Middle East as well as the pressure on global energy markets. The recent increase in fuel prices has elevated the operating costs for the airlines, with fuel accounting for an important and large proportion of the airline’s overall expenditure. Now, the escalating prices of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) and the falling rupee are actually a double blow for the aviation industry, as it comes at a time when air traffic is witnessing a decline. The price-sensitive domestic travelers are opting for other modes of transport after witnessing the increase in air travel fares.
