In a major strategic move to regain travelers, the Lucknow City Transport Services Limited (LCTSL) has approved the reduction of electric bus fares. The fare is to be reduced by INR 5 across all slabs and will help passengers save money. In addition to the fare reduction, the LCTSL is also planning re-tendering Smart City Bus Shelters to further make travel convenient. It is hoped that these changes will position the city’s electric bus fleet as a better alternative to private vehicles and e-rickshaws.

In an effort to draw the travelers to public transport, reduce congestion on the road, and reduce pollution, the LCTSL will now charge its passengers on electric buses INR 5 less than before. Following are the new rates for slabs:

Passengers Traveling Up To 10 Km: INR 20 (Instead of INR 25)
