India and New Zealand have recently signed a landmark Free Trade Agreement (FTA). While there are many things of note in this FTA, one of the key features is the massive expansion in labor mobility that will be afforded to young Indian nationals. Working holiday visas allow young adults, typically ranging from ages 18 to 30 or 35, to work in a foreign country for up to a year, generally to fund their own travel. New Zealand will therefore allow successful Indian applicants to live and work in the country for up to 12 months with multiple entries.

New Zealand will also have a dedicated quota of 1,000 visas per year in this category, specifically for Indians between the ages of 18 and 30.

What Is The Temporary Employment Entry (TEE) Visa?
The Temporary Employment Entry (TEE) Visa, introduced in the FTA, creates a streamlined pathway for up to 5,000 Indians annually to work in New Zealand. These visa-holders will be allowed to work in the country for up to three years.
The sectors eligible for this are IT, Healthcare, Education, and Construction, and for specialized roles like AYUSH and traditional medical practitioners, Yoga instructors and music teachers, and Indian Chefs.

What’s The India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA)?
