In this chapter of unstumbled’s newest IP, “State On A Plate,” we savored authentic Maharashtrian food. And which other place in Mumbai would have been the perfect choice if not The Maratha Kitchen? 

Founder Mr. Abhishek Tulaskar took us on a culinary journey of understanding and relishing the best of Maharashtrian cuisine. He describes Maharashtrian cuisine as a homely, wholesome, complete meal, breaking portrayals of people that define it as spicy or oily. Abhishek helped us understand the difference between “tikhat” and “zanzhanit” and also taught us the right way to relish the Maharashtrian cuisine.

The Best Of Maharashtrian Cuisine

If you look at the table in the video below, you will see how it is filled with colorful dishes and flavors that actually bring a huge smile to your face. Mr. Abhishek served us Tambda Rassa, Pandhra Rassa, Mutton Alani Bhaat, Daal Kaanda, Akha Masur, Paplet In Bana Leaf, Paatevarcha Theccha, Kheemache Ladoo, Agri Prawns, Solkadhi, and so much more. We actually lost count of the number of dishes we were served with. 

Our host was completely bowled over by the range of colors visible on the table. Mr. Abhishek also surprised, or rather shocked, our host with many facts about Maharashtrian cuisine. He also shared his fondest food memories and his love for the regional dishes that Maharashtra is blessed with.
