Chardham Yatra Route Map 2026
Most pilgrims take about 10 to 12 days to complete the Chardham Yatra. Pilgrims usually follow a clockwise sequence: Yamunotri – Gangotri – Kedarmath – Badrinath. This route is highly recommended as it allows for gradual acclimatization to high altitudes.
Depending on your pace and health conditions, a standard 10-day to 12-day itinerary can stretch out to a few more days. On the contrary, if you’ve physically prepared yourself for the trek routes, you can finish the route within 10 days.
Here is a general itinerary that pilgrims follow for a standard 10- to 12-day route:
- Day 1: Arrive in Haridwar
- Day 2: Travel from Haridwar to Barkot (Approx 192 km)
- Day 3: Barkot to Janki Chatti (approx 45 km) and then Yamunotri (7 km) Back to Barkot from Yamunotri on the same day.
- Day 4: Barkot to Uttarkashi (82 km)
- Day 5: Uttarkashi to Harshil (75 km) and then Gangotri Temple (24 km) and back to Uttarkashi.
- Day 6: Uttarkashi to Rudraprayag (172 km)
- Day 7: Rudraprayag to Gaurikund (72 km) and then Kedarnath Temple (15 km) and back to Rudraprayag
- Day 8: Rudraprayag to Joshimath (114 km) followed by Badrinath Temple (39 km) and back to Rudraprayag.
- Day 9: Rudraprayag to Haridwar (157 km)
The general cost of a stay in any of these places can vary depending on the hotel prices and the time of booking. However, here is an approximate price analysis of the accommodation options you can expect:

- Budget hotels and homestays: INR 1000 to INR 1200 onwards per person per night
