Planning a trip to Kodaikanal during the holiday season? The Tamil Nadu Forest Department has introduced an advance online ticketing system for four popular tourist spots to help reduce traffic congestion and long queues. Visitors can book and pay for entry tickets through the official website, https://kodaikanalwildlifesanctuary.com/, before reaching the destinations. They can then present either a digital or printed receipt at the entry points. The system covers Pillar Rocks, Guna Caves, Pine Forest and Moir Point, which often attract large crowds during holidays. Earlier, visitors had to pay separately at each location. A centralised manual ticketing system and on-site QR code payments were introduced later, but queues continued to form, partly because mobile connectivity can be unreliable in the hilly terrain. According to officials, the District Collector, Superintendent of Police and District Forest Officer worked together to develop the advance online ticketing system. Forest officials have encouraged tourists to book in advance to avoid delays and help ease congestion around these popular spots. If Kodaikanal is on your travel list, make sure you check the official website before heading out.
