Rise In ATF And Revised Charges
Starting October 6, 2026, IndiGo will revise its fuel charges. It will follow a sharp rise in aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices, which climbed more than 14% month-on-month. It pushed domestic ATF from around INR 121 per liter in September 2026 to INR 137 per liter from October 2026. The revised charges apply to new bookings made from 12:01 AM on October 6, 2026.

How Much More Will Travelers Pay For Domestic IndiGo Flights?
The revised domestic IndiGo fuel charges are now distance-based, ranging from INR 375 to INR 1,300 per sector.

Up to 500 km: INR 375
Between 501 and 1,000 km: INR 600
1,001 to 1,500 km: INR 900
1,501 TO 2,000 km: INR 1,150
Above 2,000 km: INR 1,300
When compared to the previous structure, the increase ranges from INR 100 to INR 350 per sector. For example, for flights above 2,000 km, the charge has gone up from INR 950 to INR 1,300. In total, a passenger can be expected to pay an additional INR 700 (INR 350 more per sector one-way).

How Much More Will Travelers Pay For International IndiGo Flights?

International IndiGo passengers will face steeper fees. Flights within the SAARC region will carry INR 500 to INR 1,000 depending on distance. Sectors to Southeast Asia, the Middle East and GCC, or North and East Asia will attract around INR 5,000, while Africa will carry INR 6,000. Europe will carry the highest surcharge at INR 10,000 per sector.

Why Has IndiGo Increased Fuel Charges
The airline has attributed the revision to rising ATF prices. IndiGo has said that the latest month-on-month increase in ATF prices exceeded 14%, counting among the highest levels in the past decade.
The airline had introduced fuel surcharges earlier this year and has now recalibrated them again as fuel prices continue to rise. The revised charges apply to new bookings made from October 6 onwards.
