The government will soon release detailed guidelines for the free KSRTC bus travel scheme. This initiative is designed to help daily commuters and reduce travel expenses for women throughout the state. During the first Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Satheesan emphasized the significance of the free bus travel scheme and assured that more information would be shared soon.

Besides this, the government has also announced the creation of a dedicated department for senior citizens, which could be a first in the country. The Chief Minister pointed out that the way we care for our elderly reflects our society, and Kerala wants to be known for its compassionate care for seniors.

Additionally, in response to the requests from Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) workers who protested outside the Secretariat, the Cabinet has approved a monthly pay increase of Rs 3,000 for these important health workers. There will also be a Rs 1,000 raise for Anganwadi workers, their helpers, school cooking staff, pre-primary educators, and ayahs, showing the government’s commitment to enhancing the livelihoods of people in these vital jobs.
