Delhi Metro To Launch On-The-Go NCMC Card
The announcement of the launch of RuPay National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) took place on Sunday at the Delhi Metro headquarters. This event was attended by Airtel Payments Bank MD and CEO Anubrata Biswas and DMRC Managing Director Vikas Kumar, as well as senior officials from both organisations.

This card will include prepaid payment instrument cards and debit cards, which are designed to keep mass transit systems in mind. It will help commuters to use one single card for all their travel, including buses, metro travel, and other transport services. This card, hence, will offer seamless travel and digital payments across all public transport networks and metro systems.
According to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the card will be available within 10 days at all the metro stations in Delhi. All the commuters can easily recharge their cards digitally. This can be done through the Airtel mobile application and the DMRC mobile application.

Unified Payment System For Public Transport
The RuPay National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) is a part of the Centre’s “One Nation, One Card” programme. This programme is completely focused on creating a unified payment system across India for public transport.

This card is different from the existing Delhi Metro Smart cards. The biggest difference is that the Smart cards can be used only within the DMRC network, while the NCMC card offers “One Nation, One Card” interoperability across all transport systems. Another difference is that the smart cards relied on station-based recharges; the NCMC cards can be charged digitally.
