Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay’s visit to the Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on September 5, 2025, marked a significant diplomatic and spiritual moment.
The Bhutan delegates were welcomed at the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya by Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi and senior local officials. This visit was an important part of the Prime Minister’s four-day India tour.

Tshering Tobgay Visits Ram Mandir
On arriving, PM Tobgay and his wife were greeted with a red carpet reception, after which they were taken to the Ram Mandir.
They spent about two hours in worship and exploration of the temple site. PM Tobgay performed the aarti for Ram Lalla, offered flowers at the inner sanctum, and also received prasad afterwards.
The act of the Prime Minister bowing three times before the deity was seen as a mark of profound reverence that resonated deeply with the devotees and authorities. He also admired the intricately carved pillars, the design of the temple, and the murals.
PM Tobgay paused to take pictures of the art and also engaged in a guided tour of key areas like the Parkota wall, Saptmandapam, Kuber Teela, and the Ram Darbar.
He also reviewed the ongoing construction in the temple’s final phase with briefings on the vision and spiritual significance.
Hanumangarhi, Kuber Teela, and A Traditional Lunch
Bhutan PM’s visit was not limited to the Ram Mandir; he also offered prayers at other renowned sites in Ayodhya, including Hanumangarhi and Kuber Teela.
Ayodhya’s administration hosted a traditional lunch for the Bhutanese dignitaries, including cultural performances that further symbolized the warmth and hospitality extended by the local community.
