Story Of Karwa Chauth
Veeravati was a beautiful princess and the only sister to seven loving brothers. During the first Karwa Chauth after marriage, she visited her parents’ home and observed a nirjala upwas. As the day progressed, her health deteriorated, and she eventually fainted from severe hunger.
Unable to witness their sister’s intense suffering, the brothers devised a trick and made her believe that the moon was up. Believing that the moon was up, she broke her fast, and as soon as she took the first bite. Urgent word arrived saying that her husband had collapsed and died.
Veeravati rushed to the palace, and, looking at her repentance, Parvati granted her a boon and gave life to her husband.
