The Camping Only Packages cost around INR 17,000 per person for the stay for entire 4-night stay. What is more, you can also opt for Bring Your Own Tent (BYOT) options and save some money on the experience. The average cost for such options ranges between INR 3,000 and 5,000.
Furthermore, if you’re not going to the festival alone, you can also book pre-pitched tents for two and four persons. Mandatory Travel Permits for Arunachal Pradesh
Inner Line Permit (ILP) For Indian Citizens
It is important to keep in mind that none of the booking or stay options include the ILP. An ILP is mandatory for all non-residents of Arunachal Pradesh. The online application process is simple enough. You just need to go to the respective state ILP portal, follow the steps, and pay the fees. It typically costs around INR 500. Your application is generally processed within three to four business days.
Protected Area Permit (PAP) For Foreign Nationals
For foreign nationals, the process is slightly trickier. These people will need a PAP to enter this Northeastern Indian state. For this, they would have to visit the e-FRRO website. It is important to note that a solo foreign traveler cannot obtain a PAP. In order for foreign nationals to qualify for a PAP, they have to travel with at least one other foreign national.
You must either be in a group or be a married couple to qualify. Furthermore, there is a specific restricted tourist circuit that foreign nationals are allowed to travel. Owing to its proximity to the border, not all regions of this place are open to foreigners. Standard PAPs are generally valid for 10 days, with an option to extend for up to 7 more days through competent state/FRRO authorities.
