1. Chitrakoot, Madhya Pradesh & Uttar Pradesh
Chitrakoot is a well-known sacred pilgrimage town that is split across the border of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. It is famous as the place where Lord Ram is believed to have spent most of the years of his exile. This place was the primary hub for the movie’s principal shooting. Many important scenes, including the opening sequence, were shot here.
Local Villages: Several BTS videos from the film’s shooting have surfaced on social media platforms. The production team traveled across the local villages in Chitrakoot in order to shoot scenes that featured large crowds. They recruited real villagers using loudspeakers and asked them to participate as supporting artists for the movie. The villagers were asked to dress in traditional attire, which meant sarees for women and dhoti-kurtas for men.
Punjabi Baba Ashram Chitrakoot: Also known as Shri Panjabi Bhagavan Ashram, the Punjabi Baba Ashram is a highly revered spiritual site in Chitrakoot’s Janki Kund area. This ashram was used for filming the opening sequence of the movie.
Sets: For some critical sequences in the movie, the production team had to build sets. This involved the Hanuman idol scene and Baba’s cave scene. These sets were built here in Chitrakoot.

Vrindavan, revered as Lord Krishna’s childhood home, is a sacred historical city in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district. The famous Neeb Karori Baba Ashram is located here in Gaushala Nagar. Neem Karoli Baba, also affectionately known as Maharaj Ji, left his physical body here on September 11, and hence the Ashram houses his Mahasamadhi.
(Note: Neeb Karori baba and Neem Karoli Baba refer to the exact same person. One name has simply evolved from others simply based on the historic location and local dialect)

One of the notable shoots is the train sequence. It was creatively fabricated using an indoor set. It was made of plywood and cardboard, along with 3D animation to show the exteriors. This was done because of the movie’s tight budget, but with a creative mind, the scene looks very realistic.

Hanuman Ansh is currently witnessing a Box Office collection that has crossed the 100 crore mark. It has collected INR 10 lakh on its first day and now has recorded an India gross collection of INR 144.40 crore so far. Its total India net collection is recorded at INR 122.13 crore. It has now received tax-free status in Uttarakhand and will also be distributed internationally through Hombale Overseas.
The movie is written, directed, and produced by Dr.Vishal Chaturvedi and is based on his book, Divine Detour: That Changed My Life. It is the first installment of the planned trilogy.
