India has received its very first virtual zoo in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore. This attraction is located inside the famous Kamla Nehru Prani Sangrahalaya (Kamla Nehru Zoological Park), and it was inaugurated on August 16, 2026. It is a 14-D virtual zoo that allows visitors to explore the habitats of wild animals without actually having to invade their spaces or endangering the lives of people. It is touted as one of the best things for a family to do, especially if their kids have a penchant for the wild. India Gets Its First Virtual Zoo In Indore
The zoo was inaugurated on August 16, 2026, by the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav. He took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and shared that the establishment will also aid in generating revenue for the Municipal Corporation.

The construction of the facility cost around INR 4.5 crores and was built under a public-private partnership. It is a sprawling 8,000 sq. ft. and houses a 14-D dome theatre with features as such moving seats that simulate motion with vibration. Visitors can also experience an immersive environment with 3D glasses and AR/VR technology.

Timings, Ticket Prices, And Other Details

If reports are to go by, visitors who are interested in exploring the Digital Museum must purchase a separate ticket for it. The ticket will cost around INR 70 and is not included in the INR 30 ticket of the actual Indore Zoo.
Apart from features like moving seats, wind, water sprays, fog, and vibrations synchronized with digital forest projections, as well as a 3D jungle pathway, a glow garden, a roar maze, a mirror bridge with a hologram, and a gorilla-shaped entrance, the zoo will also run a 20-min show. The zoo will run 16 shows per day, with each show lasting around 20 minutes.
The Indore digital zoo will be open from Tuesday to Sunday between 10 AM and 6 PM.
