The very first urban public transport ropeway project in India will soon be launched in Varanasi. Once the Varanasi Ropeway launches, it will help in bypassing the city’s notorious traffic snarls. This particular project will cut travel time down to a mere 15 to 16 minutes from Varanasi Cantt Station straight to the doorstep of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple corridor and Dashashwamedh Ghat. The final fares as well as the smart pass rates have also been announced.

Route Map, Station Amenities, And Premium Gondolas
The route of the Varanasi Roperway consists of four highly modernized and accessible hubs. They are Varanasi Cantt., which is the primary transit hub, Vidyapith, Rath Yatra, and Godowlia Chowk, which is the final terminal for Kashi Vishawanath Dham and Ghats.
There is also a luxury/VIP private gondola booking service designed for corporate group tours, luxury travelers, and families looking for privacy. These gondolas are typically priced at INR 2,000. However, advance group booking can fetch you a discount rate of INR 1,200.

A smart luggage storage system will also be available at the primary terminal. For the first couple of hours, storage of luggage is absolutely free for all valid ticket holders. However, after the two-hour mark, a fee of INR 50 per hour will be levied.
