If you are heading to Matheran in the hopes of experiencing the toy train, you might be in for a disappointment. In order to ensure safety during this treacherous season of monsoon, the CR has suspended the toy train services between Neral and Aman Lodge. However, your journey can still take place as they have also announced a shuttle service in lieu of the toy train.
Matheran Toy Train Neral-Aman Lodge Services Suspended
Starting today, Monday, June 15, 2026, the toy train services between Neral and Aman Lodge in Matheran are suspended completely. The announcement was made on a post on the micro-blogging website X (formerly known as Twitter) by the official handle of the Central Railways.

In the post, they mentioned that the suspension of the services will remain in place until October 15, 2026, which covers the duration of the monsoon season. They also mentioned that the suspension is for safeguarding the passengers during the monsoon months. However, to ensure that travelers are able to travel to Matheran safely, they will offer shuttle services in lieu of the toy train.
