Air India, one of India’s leading airlines, has made headlines by achieving a Skytrax 4-Star Airline Rating for both Business Class and Economy Class. This significant accomplishment highlights the airline’s ongoing transformation as part of its Vihaan.AI program.

Previously rated as a 3-star airline, Air India’s rise to 4-star status comes after an extensive overhaul that includes modernizing its fleet, enhancing its service and product offerings, and improving the overall travel experience. The airline has prioritized upgrades in digital technology, on-ground services, and customer service, all aimed at providing a better journey for passengers.

Skytrax 4-Star Rating- What Does This Mean

The efforts have paid off, with noticeable improvements in customer feedback. Air India’s Net Promoter Score (NPS), which measures customer satisfaction and loyalty, has jumped by more than 70 points, climbing from -35 late last year to nearly +40 today. This rise reflects the airline’s success in areas that passengers care about the most. On its flagship A350 and B787-9 aircraft, the NPS scores are even higher, consistently in the 60s.

What Changes Has Air India Made In Its Operations

Air India’s changes also include fleet upgrades, with the introduction of modern aircraft like the Airbus A350 and new Boeing 787-9s. The airline’s fleet has expanded to over 120 aircraft, significantly enhancing passenger comfort on flights.

Additionally, Air India has revamped its airport and lounge experiences in cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, and San Francisco. Improvements such as smooth boarding processes and self-service check-ins have made travel more seamless.

Onboard, the airline has reimagined its service by retraining cabin crew and enhancing in-flight dining and entertainment options. This includes over 3,000 hours of content available on newer aircraft and a focus on in-flight connectivity.
