What To Know About The Golden Chariot Train Upgrade

According to IRCTC, the Golden Chariot aims to highlight South India’s rich cultural heritage and stunning landscapes while combining classic elegance with contemporary conveniences.

The upgraded Golden Chariot luxury train boasts reimagined interiors and elevated cabins that include plush furnishings, smart televisions, and Wi-Fi-enabled entertainment systems. Enhanced safety measures have been implemented as well, featuring CCTV surveillance and advanced fire alarm systems. Accommodating up to 80 guests in 40 luxurious cabins, the train includes double and twin bed configurations, along with a specially designed cabin for passengers with disabilities. Three curated itineraries are in place for the upcoming season.

The ‘Pride of Karnataka’ tour lasts six days, taking travelers through Bengaluru, Mysuru, Hampi, and Goa. Alternatively, the ‘Jewels of South’ itinerary encompasses destinations like Mysuru, Mahabalipuram, Thanjavur, and Cochin, while the shorter ‘Glimpses of Karnataka’ offers a four-day exploration of key heritage sites.

Though all routes are connected to Bengaluru, the itineraries vary in their destinations across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Goa, and Kerala.

Pricing Of The Golden Chariot Train Journey

Ticket prices for the Deluxe Cabin start at Rs. 420,680 for both the ‘Pride of Karnataka’ and ‘Jewels of South’ itineraries, while the ‘Glimpses of Karnataka’ tour is available for Rs. 280,450.
