However, now, in light of adverse weather conditions in the region, Uttarakhand authorities are advising pilgrims and tourists to take precautions and travel safely. An orange alert was issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), warning of potential rainfall and difficult weather in various parts of Uttarakhand, particularly in hilly areas, on May 12th and 13th. This alert predicts widespread rain over the next 48 hours, especially in high-altitude regions.

Garhwal Divisional Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey has urged devotees to stay informed about the weather conditions during their travels and to plan their journeys with care. He highlighted the importance of being cautious while organizing trips on May 12th and 13th due to the changing weather.
Pandey emphasized the need for pilgrims to adhere to the guidelines set by local authorities to ensure safety while traveling through the mountains. He also mentioned that government departments have been instructed to make the necessary preparations for a smooth pilgrimage experience. With many devotees expected this year, the Uttarakhand government is dedicated to facilitating a well-organized Char Dham Yatra.
