Bengaluru’s Namma Metro network is about to unlock a new milestone. A new metro line has been proposed, which promises to be Bengaluru’s longest single metro line yet. This ambitious project is proposed by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), and the plan for it is prepared by Introsoft Solutions. This new line will connect the southern tip of Kalena Agrahara to the tech hub of Kadugodi. It will span a whopping 73 kilometers, making it the city’s longest single metro line. As of now, Bengaluru is preparing a feasibility study for this project.

The metro will connect rapidly developing hubs like Bannerghatta, Jigani, Attibele, Sarjapur, Dommasandra Circle, and Varthur Kodi. The plan for this metro has more than 50 stations.
What is more, this particular metro line will also connect to a proposed cricket stadium in Anekal. This cricket stadium is estimated to accommodate 80,000 seats.

When Will The Longest Bangalore Metro Be Operational?
A Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been prepared and is ready for state approval. Once approved, the construction for this project will begin prior to 2029. It is estimated that the actual construction will take around five to ten years.

This means that the metro line will finally begin operations between 2034 and 2039. This 73-km stretch is a part of a broader expansion plan that spans 210.9 km.
