The NGMA is bringing what could be termed as one of the most iconic art exhibitions in the city. Titled ‘Bollywood in Focus’, the art exhibition will highlight the legacy of the Bollywood or the Hindi Film Industry. 

Through carefully curated photographs from different Bollywood eras, the exhibition will provide a glimpse into the timeless frames that made our silver screen so iconic. From portraits of actors in the 60s to the soft-focused candids of 90s’ actors, the exhibition will present a never-seen-before look into Bollywood through frames frozen in time.

  • The exhibition will highlight the timeless journey of Indian cinema through rare archives, iconic photography, film stills, and visual storytelling.
  • The exhibition will open on the birth anniversary of the Father of Indian Cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke.
  • It will trace Bollywood’s evolution – from the Golden Era legends like Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand, Rajesh Khanna to icons like Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, and more.
  • The exhibition will also pay tribute to Mumbai as a UNESCO Creative City of Film.

What Are The Dates And Entry Fee To The ‘Bollywood In Focus’ Exhibition

The much awaited ‘Bollywood In Focus’ Exhibition will be open to the public starting May 1st, 2026. The exhibition will be open to the masses until June 30th, 2026. It will be held at the NGMA for close to 60 days.

When it comes to the entry fee, Indian visitors are expected to pay INR 20 to enter the art gallery. For foreigners, the entry fee is INR 500.

How To Reach NGMA?

By Air

NGMA is located in the iconic Fort neighborhood in South Mumbai. From the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, the art gallery is located about 24.7 km away. It can take about an hour to reach the art gallery, but it is subject to traffic. From the airport, you can easily book a cab or a prepaid taxi to drop you off at this location.

By Rail / Metro

Churchgate (Western Line) and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (Central Line) are the nearest railway stations to the art gallery. From both the stations, you can easily board a bus that drops you off at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalay – the art gallery is right opposite the museum. Alternatively you can also take a cab or use apps like Ola and Uber.

Another new option is to use the newly inaugurated Aqua Line Metro. You can alight at either the Churchgate Metro or the Vidhan Bhawan Station on this line. From these stations, you can easily walk for about 10 to 12 minutes or take a cab to reach the art gallery.

By Road

You can easily get cabs and buses from virtually any corner of the city to reach the art gallery, or at least the Fort neighborhood. The Coastal Road near the art gallery connects South Mumbai to the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, cutting the distance between SoBo and the Bandra suburb. Similarly, both the Western Express and the Eastern Express Highways connect SoBo to the Northern suburbs.
