The best way to reach Kedarnath is to start your journey from Delhi. Delhi enjoys excellent connectivity with major cities and towns across India, through air, road, and rail.
Many direct trains are available from Delhi to the nearest railway stations to the temple, Haridwar and Rishikesh. These are as mentioned below:
- Vande Bharat (Delhi to Haridwar / Rishikesh): INR 600 to INR 1200 per person approximately.
- Mussoorie Express (Delhi to Haridwar / Rishikesh): INR 200 to INR 1200 per person approximately.
- Jan Shatabdi Express (Delhi to Haridwar / Rishikesh): INR 150 to INR 500 per person approximately.
You can also opt for a direct flight from Delhi to Dehradun’s Jolly Grant Airport, which is the nearest to the temple. There are many domestic flights by Air India, IndiGo, etc that operate between the two cities.

Online registration has started from March 6, 2026 (Phase 1).
This year, there will be no registration fees for Char Dham registration. Go to the official Uttarakhand Tourism website, sign up or log in, and create a tour by selecting the start and end dates. You must also add details of the number of tourists and their respective visit dates. Complete the registration by providing pilgrim details. Kedarnath Helicopter Services: Price And Location
There are many pilgrims, especially aged and those with disabilities, that are physically not capable enough to complete the Kedarnath trek. For them, direct helicopter services to the temple can be convenient. There are direct helicopter services available from the following places:
- Guptkashi
- Phata
- Sersi
These rides only take about 7 to 10 minutes and the tariff starts from INR 6000 to INR 7000 for a round trip. Alternatively, you can also make use of a pony or pithu service to carry you to the temple.
