Cafe Mokai Has Shifted: New Outlet To Open At Pali Road
About Cafe Mokai (Chapel Road Outlet)
Cafe Mokai opened in April 2024 at Chapel Road. The cafe building was two-storeyed and offered an all-day menu. From Asian-inspired dishes to specialty coffee and matcha, the menu of Mokai has been diverse. In fact, the cafe changed its menu from time to time depending on festivals and seasonal events.
The cafe was set in a vibrant bungalow decorated with aesthetics inspired by Japanese art. The building exteriors gained social media attention for its visually striking look and rotational decor.
New Mokai Outlet At Pali Road
The official Instagram handle of Cafe Mokai announced a major update on February 24, 2026. It announced that its Chapel Road outlet would be open for 2 weeks following the date of this announcement, following which it would shift into a ‘bigger space’.
It also announced that the Chapel Road outlet would not permanently shut down but undergo a ‘long renovation’ instead.
Cafe Mokai, in the same post, announced that it would shift into a new space that would be ‘bigger, better, and built differently’.
Many loyal fans of Mokai have expressed mixed feelings about the announcement. Many expressed their sadness at seeing the iconic Chapel Road outlet shut down, while others expressed their excitement at the announcement.

A few weeks later, on March 13, 2026, the official Instagram handle of Cafe Mokai announced a new, exciting update. It announced that the Chapel Road outlet would pause operations tomorrow, i.e. starting March 14, 2026.
However, what caught more attention was that the cafe announced the location of its next outlet – at Pali Hill! The social media post read that the team at Mokai would be undergoing training for a week before opening a new address on March 19, 2026 at Pali Hill.
