Delhi Metro Revises Operational Timings For Holi, Railways Announces Special Trains

In Delhi, the colorful festival of Holi will be celebrated today, Wednesday, March 4, 2026, with pomp and grandeur. To ensure a smooth celebration and keep things organized, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has shared updated metro service hours for today. The Delhi metro operations will kick off later than usual due to the Holi celebrations. As per the updated schedule, services will start at 2:30 PM from all terminal stations on every line, including the Airport Express Line. After this revised start, metro services will continue as usual for the remainder of the day.

Delhi Metro services will be unavailable until 2:30 PM today across all lines. Operating hours will shift from the usual 5:30 AM to 11:30 PM, to 2:30 PM to 11:30 PM. Make sure you plan ahead and stay updated.

Besides the Delhi Metro, Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro services will also run from 5 pm to 10 pm, as reported by Money Control. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation indicated that services will be paused during the morning and afternoon for Holi, resuming in the evening to support essential travel needs.

Lastly, to manage the Holi rush, Indian Railways has scheduled 1,244 special Holi train trips across various zones from February 25 to March 18, with the possibility of increasing to 1,500 if demand requires it.
