The International Kite and Sweet Festival is set to be inaugurated today, that is, January 13, and will continue till January 15. The festival will be inaugurated by Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao at 4 pm today at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad.
This year, over 95 professional kite flyers will be participating from different countries. This will include people from 19 countries, like Australia, Canada, Cambodia, Korea, Portugal, Switzerland, Russia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Japan, Algeria, Vietnam, Malaysia, Ukraine, and France. The event will also host about 55 national kite flyers from different states.
