The International Kite and Sweet Festival is set to be inaugurated today, that is, January 13, and will continue till January 15. The festival will be inaugurated by Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao at 4 pm today at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad.
This year, over 95 professional kite flyers will be participating from different countries. This will include people from 19 countries, like Australia, Canada, Cambodia, Korea, Portugal, Switzerland, Russia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Japan, Algeria, Vietnam, Malaysia, Ukraine, and France. The event will also host about 55 national kite flyers from different states.
About 1200 homemade sweet varieties across 60 stalls will be featured in the international sweet festival. The festival will be held every day from January 13 to 15 from 10 am to 9 pm. Entry is free for all visitors.

Drone Festival and Hot Air Balloon Festival
Right after the kite and sweet festival ends, there will be the Hot Air Balloon festival and the Drone festival.
The Hot Air balloon festival will be held from January 16 to January 18. This festival will operate at the Parade Grounds from 4 pm to 9 pm every day. This festival is sure to attract a lot of families and photographers. Hyderabadis will get to witness a wonderful spectacle as the entire sky will be filled with hot-air colourful balloons. There will be about 15 International standard hot air balloons from European countries for this festival.
