Dharmendra Dies At 89

Bollywood has lost one of its most beloved icons, Dharmendra, who passed away at the age of 89 on Monday, November 24.

Known as the original “He-Man” of Hindi cinema, Dharmendra’s career spanned over six decades, where he captivated audiences with memorable roles, including Veeru in the classic film Sholay and Shakti Singh in Phool Aur Patthar.

Following his death, family members, including Hema Malini and Esha Deol, along with numerous Bollywood celebrities, gathered to pay their final respects at Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle, Mumbai. Among those in attendance were notable stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, and Salman Khan, highlighting the profound impact Dharmendra had on the film industry.

His cremation took place in a solemn atmosphere, surrounded by loved ones and colleagues. Earlier this month, he had been hospitalized but was discharged just days before his passing. Leaders like Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and West Bengal’s Mamata Banerjee acknowledged his immense contributions to Indian cinema, marking the loss of a legendary figure whose legacy will endure.

The actor, who would have celebrated his 90th birthday on December 8, had been in poor health for some time. Numerous celebrities, including Karan Johar, Kajol, Ajay Devgn, and Kareena Kapoor, expressed their condolences on social media, with Johar referring to the actor’s passing as the conclusion of an era.
