Flying makes your travel faster and often comes with extra comforts, especially on long-haul flights. Besides meals, you get to enjoy in-flight movies and shows that make the trip more fun. And now, Indian Railways is bringing that same fun to train journeys by offering free OTT streaming for passengers. With the new RailOne app, passengers can watch movies, web series, documentaries, listen to audio programs, and play games, making their trips more enjoyable.

Passengers can now enjoy free OTT streaming, thanks to the introduction of the WAVES OTT platform, which significantly expands entertainment options. Launched by Prasar Bharati in November 2024, this platform provides content in over 10 languages, featuring a wide array of live television, on-demand videos, audio content, gaming, and e-commerce – all conveniently accessible in one place. WAVES OTT teams with numerous content creators, local broadcasters, and cultural institutions to bring a wealth of content across various Indian languages and dialects, thus promoting linguistic and cultural richness.

The Ministry of Railways has launched ‘RailOne,’ an innovative app aimed at enhancing passenger services. Officially unveiled by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on July 1, 2025, RailOne is available on both the Play Store and the App Store.

Users can benefit from a 3% discount on unreserved and platform tickets, live train tracking, complaint support, e-catering services, porter bookings, and last-mile taxi options. Reserved tickets will still be obtainable through the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), which integrates with RailOne.

The app also features an R-Wallet for seamless transactions. RailOne allows passengers to manage everything from ticket bookings to food orders in one convenient platform. Additionally, it supports a single sign-on system for easy access through mPIN or biometrics, making it user-friendly for all travelers.
