IndiGo, India’s top budget airline, operates a fleet of over 400 aircraft and runs more than 2,200 flights daily to over 130 destinations, including more than 40 international routes. The airline has recently achieved recognition as the world’s third-best low-cost carrier in 2025, as announced at the Skytrax World Airline Awards. The award ceremony took place on June 17, 2025, at the Paris Air Show, specifically in the stunning Hall of Eight Columns at Le Bourget airport, with around 500 attendees, including many airline executives and leaders who accepted their awards on stage. In the India / South Asia region, IndiGo emerged as the top airline, earning the title of Best Airline in India / South Asia. Additionally, it was honored with the award for Best Low-Cost Airline in the area.
Known for its impartial customer surveys, the World Airline Awards have been celebrated since 1999 and are often referred to as “the Oscars of the aviation industry.” While IndiGo claimed third place, AirAsia and Scoot took the top two spots.

Qatar Airways Crowned World’s Best Airline
Qatar Airways receiving the title of World’s Best Airline for the ninth time is a remarkable achievement. Singapore Airlines, a five-time winner of the esteemed Airline of the Year award, is ranked No. 2 in the world for 2025, while Cathay Pacific Airways has moved up to the third spot. Emirates is in fourth place, with ANA All Nippon Airways rounding out the top five, all from a pool of over 325 airlines included in the survey results.

Besides IndiGo, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, Won Big At Skytrax 2025
Qatar Airways excelled in several award categories, winning the title of World’s Best Business Class and having their Al Mourjan Garden Lounge recognized as the World’s Best Business Class Airline Lounge. Singapore Airlines earned accolades for having the World’s Best Cabin Crew, and their First Class Suites continue to set the standard by winning the World’s Best First Class award.
In a highly competitive region for airline service, Singapore Airlines was also named the Best Airline in Asia.
STARLUX Airlines from Taiwan received the World’s Most Improved Airline award for 2025, showcasing significant progress throughout the entire Awards program.
AirAsia won the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline title once again, maintaining this title every year since 2010, while Scoot was honored as the World’s Best Long-Haul Low-Cost Airline.
