One of the key changes is the introduction of a mandatory tourism fee of IDR 150,000 (INR 775.17), which visitors must pay either before arriving or during their stay through the Love Bali website.
Additionally, hiring licensed tour guides is now required when exploring the heritage and natural attractions. These guides are duly certified by local authorities and are knowledgeable about Balinese customs, helping tourists engage with the culture in a respectful way.
Bali Announces Rules For Renting Vehicles, Currency Exchange And More
When it comes to money exchange, tourists are required to use only licensed money changers. This includes banks or government-approved institutions.
For those looking to rent vehicles, it is necessary to have a valid international or Indonesian driver’s license. Visitors should follow traffic regulations, wear helmets while riding motorbikes, respect speed limits, and refrain from driving under the influence. It’s also important to use only registered rental vehicles.
Bali asks tourists to dress appropriately when visiting temples. It has put restrictions on climbing sacred trees and taking inappropriate photos at religious places. Littering or polluting Bali’s beautiful beaches, forests, and rivers, as well as engaging in any aggressive or disrespectful behavior, such as public swearing, is also not allowed.
